History & Milestones
KAA Established
Kenya Airports Authority was established under the State Corporations Act to manage and operate all airports in Kenya.
JKIA Expansion
Major expansion of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with the construction of new terminal facilities.
ISO Certification
JKIA achieved ISO 9001 certification, marking a milestone in quality management systems.
Carbon Accreditation
JKIA achieved Level 1 Airport Carbon Accreditation, demonstrating KAA's commitment to sustainability.
Level 3+ Accreditation
Four KAA airports — JKIA, Moi, Kisumu, and Eldoret — achieved Level 3+ Carbon Accreditation.
